MISSION STATEMENT
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Namwala Central of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to proclaim to all the people in the territory of Namwala, the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angels’ message of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and to unite with His church and nurturing them in preparation for His soon return.
OUR METHOD
Under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit in cooperation with the South Zambia Conference and Zambia Union Conference of Southern-Africa Indian Ocean Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church and through our subsidiary organizations, we pursue the implementation of our mission in the following ways:
1. Preaching – accepting Christ’s gospel commission as our mandate (Matthew 28:18-20), we proclaim to all corners Namwala the message of a loving God, most fully revealed in His Son’s reconciling ministry and atoning death. Recognizing the Bible to be God’s infallible written revelation of His will, we preach its full message, including the second advent of Christ and the continuing authority of His Ten commandment law with its reminder of the Seventh-day Sabbath. Our preaching of this message is done in varied contexts ranging from our Sabbath worship meetings, mid-week prayer meetings, revival meetings, evangelistic crusades, youth and adult camp meetings, rallies, fellowship forums, literature distribution and through the public media of radio and television.
2. Teaching –Acknowledging that development of mind and character is essential to God’s redemptive plan, we promote the growth of a mature understanding of a relationship with God, this ministry is done through Sabbath Schools, group and personal Bible studies, youth discussion groups, correspondence courses and through our academic institutions ranging from pre-school to college level.
3. Healing – Affirming the biblical emphasis on the well-being of the whole person, we make the preservation of health and healing of the sick a priority through our ministry to the poor and oppressed, cooperate with the Creator in His compassionate work of restoration. Our ministry of health and healing is done through seminars conducted in churches and communities and through patient care in our clinics and hospitals. Our ministry to the poor and oppressed is done through community services rendered by the Dorcas and Adventist Men Organizations.
